Andersen strengthens its Corporate and M&A practice in Portugal with Luis Moreira Cortez and José Carlos Vasconcelos

- Luis Moreira Cortez joins the firm as a Partner in the Lisbon office and José Carlos Vasconcelos as a Local Partner in the Oporto office.
Andersen strengthens its Commercial / M&A department in Portugal with the addition of Luis Moreira Cortez as a new Partner in the Lisbon office and José Carlos Vasconcelos as a new Local Partner in the Porto office. With these additions, Andersen strengthens one of its most relevant practices in Portugal with two professionals who stand out for their high level of specialization and great recognition in the market.
Luis Moreira Cortez has over 25 years’ experience. He has a law degree from the Portuguese Catholic University, a post-graduate degree from the same university in Forensic Practice and Corporate Legal Advice, as well as a post-graduate degree in Sports Law from the University of Coimbra. Throughout his career, he has advised numerous private clients and large national and international companies in sectors such as mining law and natural resources, finance and sports, among others.
José Carlos Vasconcelos has a law degree from the Catholic University of Porto and an MBA in management for lawyers from the same university. He has more than 25 years’ experience advising national and international clients on corporate and transactional matters, particularly in the health, retail and industrial sectors, as well as on various commercial contracts, including franchising, distribution and agency. He has advised multinational companies on due diligence, negotiation and M&A processes.
