Andersen Iberia completes its presence in Portugal with the opening of a new office in Oporto

The firm strengthens its activity in Portugal’s second largest city after integrating Teixeira & Guimarães, a firm specialized in technology, banking and digital business.

Andersen Iberia opens an office in the city of Oporto. With this site, the firm headed by José Vicente Morote completes its presence in Portugal and also incorporates the firm Teixeira & Guimarães, specialized in banking, new technologies and digital business. Following this integration, Andersen Iberia has a team of 60 professionals in Portugal, distributed between its Lisbon and Oporto offices.

Led by João Guimarães and Marlene Teixeira, who join Andersen in Portugal as Partner and Local Partner, Teixeira & Guimarães has a team of six people and an important international client base that includes companies in the United States, Israel, Canada and Brazil. João Guimarães and Marlene Teixeira are dual qualified as lawyers in Portugal and Brazil.

João de Sousa Guimarães holds a law degree from Universidade Lusíada and advanced studies in management from Católica Porto Business School. He has also completed advanced studies in Data Protection at the Maastricht Law School. The new partner of Andersen Iberia specializes in the areas of privacy, security and data protection, corporate law, credit recovery and technology.

Marlene de Sousa Teixeira holds a law degree from the Universidade Portucalense and a postgraduate degree in Banking, Corporate, Financial and Securities Law, as well as in Negotiation, Mediation and Dispute Resolution from the Law School of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She specializes in banking law, credit recovery, finance, insurance and insolvency.
