- The transaction, effective 1 January 2027, will integrate CNA’s four Partners and their team into Andersen’s Iberian structure.
Andersen Iberia has reached an agreement to integrate CNA – Curado, Nogueira & Associados, a Porto-based law firm that is also part of Andersen Global. The integration, which will take effect on 1 January 2027, will incorporate the four Partners and their team into the Andersen Iberia structure.
Andersen Iberia already had an office in Porto. Joining forces will expand capabilities across Tax, Corporate and M&A, Restructuring and Insolvency, Employment, and Litigation, providing greater scale to a project the firm has been building for years in northern Portugal. The operations of both CNA and Andersen Iberia in the city will now run under a single leadership and management structure.
For José Vicente Morote, Managing Partner of Andersen Iberia, this step represents the continuity of a project that has been growing significantly in Portugal. “Andersen in Porto already has a history, built by the professionals at our office and also by Teresa, Luísa, Carla, and Ana at CNA. This agreement allows us to continue this journey together within a single firm. We want Portuguese companies to find in this project the proximity of a team that knows their market alongside the full capacity of Andersen Iberia,” he stated.
The transaction aligns with Andersen Iberia’s expansion in Portugal, where the firm integrated PRA in 2026. With CNA, it adds specialized expertise and consolidates its path in Porto within an organization operating in a coordinated manner across Spain and Portugal.
This integration brings a team with extensive experience in Porto to Andersen Iberia. Teresa Nogueira, Managing Partner of CNA, explained that “for over twenty years, our team in Porto has built relationships of trust with companies that we have advised on decisive matters. In 2018, we joined Andersen Global, and over the past eight years, we have contributed to the recognition and growth of the Andersen brand in Portugal. Integrating into Andersen Iberia is a choice for the future. We want to combine our expertise with professionals across the Peninsula, work together on larger-scale matters, and offer our team an environment where they can continue to grow. It is with this ambition that we take this step.”
Teresa Nogueira will join the Executive Committee in Portugal. Luísa Curado will reinforce the Corporate and M&A practice, while Carla Malhão and Ana Reis will co-head the Tax practice in Porto.
The consolidation in Porto forms part of a broader Portuguese project, designed to leverage the resources and specialized capabilities of Andersen Iberia’s teams in a coordinated way. In this regard, Miguel Miranda, Head of Andersen in Portugal and Partner at the Oporto office, highlighted this continuity, noting that “we are proud of the work our team has done in Porto. Teresa, Luísa, Carla, Ana, and their team bring a track record that we know and value. We are excited to bring both experiences together into one firm and to keep growing our project in Portugal.”
